Predator’s Search And Rescue Roof Rack is the pinnacle of Hummer Roof Racks. The design is the culmination of 20 years of experience in building the finest Hummer Products. Based on our Low Profile Roof Rack, the S&R Roof Rack goes to the extreme. We opened up the footprint substantially by laying out the side bars at a 45 degree angle. This increases the usable width over the Low Pro Roof Rack by 8″. We also extended the length to a full 10′ for the H1 Wagon. We also increased load capacity by adding 2 more mounts for a total of 5 each side for the Wagon and 4 each side for the Hard Top.
Design:
The Structure is an extremely strong Steel design while the inner decking is all light weight aluminum. This offers the perfect balance of strength to weight ratio. With the side rails angled down and out it offers great clearances from low lying trees or parking structures while providing for secure sides for loads. With the front and rear of the rack open it allows for longer loads to be easily loaded and secured such as Kayaks, Surf Boards, Lumber or a Roof Mounted Tent. The Racks Mount design is one of its most unique features offering the most secure mount in the industry.
Construction:
The Predator Roof Rack tubing is CNC cut notched and bent, in our facility, from heavy duty .120 wall steel tube then pulse welded together giving almost a TIG Welded finished look. No sloppy continuous welds found on other Roof Racks.
Boxed Roof Rack Mounts:
We pioneered a new approach by building the finest mount in the industry. The mount is a fully boxed steel design which mounts and distributes the load on the radius of the roof, the strongest point versus tradition mounts using the weakest part, the rain gutter. Each 4″ wide foot distributes a total of 36 square inches onto the roof. In comparison, a traditional rain gutter design would distribute the load closer to 1 square inch and on the much weaker rain gutter. Furthermore, the feet are strategically placed to mount on top of and near the internal mounts of the roof for added strength. We finalized the mount with our Dual Mounting Clamp which has 2 stainless steel mounting bolts on each J-Clamp offering an increased load design over the traditional and competitors single bolt design. This ensures more secure and even clamping force for shifting loads and when the Hummer is flexing on the trail.Finally the roof rack foot is backed with a 1/2″ thick neoprene rubber pad which mounts between the roof and the bottom of the roof rack foot.
Decking:
With the Aluminum Slat Decking you can easily walk around, set up a tent or mount virtually anything you like onto the Slats. All Slat Hardware is Stainless Steel Button Socket Cap hardware for unmatched quality and a smoothed finish dome look that is less likely to be a trip hazard when working from the rack.
Forward Thinking Design:
As a design, manufacturing and installation facility we know first hand how hard it is to wire a roof rack. That’s why each Search And Rescue Roof Rack is designed and built to allow all wiring to be routed internally for the ultimate in a clean finished look. Each rack is built in house on our CNC equipment. We have designed and CNC cut holes internally at each of the corners of the roof rack joints. These internal hidden holes allow wires to be routed all the way around the perimeter of the roof rack. This results in an extremely clean and seamless design when running lights, antennas etc.
Custom Options:
Because all our products are built in house using the latest in CNC equipment, we can easily custom build anything you can think of on your Rack. Typical options include custom CNC Light Tabs welded in the bays between the roof rack feet. Pre-wiring and installed lights using all soldered and heat shrinked connections (no sloppy and unsafe butt connectors in any of our products). Custom mounts for antennas. Built in Light Bar mounts. Custom load barriers, front and rear. Custom mounts and adapters for roof rack tents.
Available with a Powder Coated Black steel Structure standard with options of aluminum finish slats or upgraded black powder coated matching slats.
