Mark you calender, Sept. 29 for “Maxx’s Ring of Fire” and “Touch a Truck”

Last year was a huge success, and we want to top that this year.

So spread the word…we know how great the Hummer family is when it comes to helping out the community and particularly when it comes to children’s needs, so we are reaching out to you once again to spread the word and to help ‘Max’s Ring of Fire’.

This year Maxx’s Ring of Fire and Touch a Truck will be at Qualcomm Stadium.   For the 4th annual Touch a Truck and 3rd annual  MaxRun 5K benefiting kids fighting cancer.   Together we can all do more for our kids with cancer, as well as give San Diego a way to support kids fighting cancer during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (September).

Last year, Max’s  Run and Touch a Truck was a huge success!!  ‘Touch a Truck’ raised over $40K to fight childhood cancer.    This year they will have the run ending up at Qualcomm where Touch a Truck will take place.

We are looking forward to having NSW and MARSOC at Touch a truck this year. The kids will get the chance to see LTATVs, Swift boats, 5 Ton and 7 Ton vehicles, they will also have MATVs.  There will be more exciting events to be announced closer to the event.

Don’t miss out, last year was so much fun.  The kids were able to climb all over the vehicles and see them up close.  This year is going to be bigger and better.

Please mark your calendars for September 29  Qualcomm Stadium 10-3

We hope to see you there!

Rescue Mission Holiday Hummer Event

Come and join one of the largest annual Southern California Holiday Charity Event with Tustin Hummer!

Years past we have packed the freeway with over a hundred Hummers all getting together in the holiday spirit to give to some of the less fortunate. It is always amazing at the generosity of the Hummer community when it comes to this event. Please come out for the event on December 18th.

The event is leaving Tustin Hummer at 8:30am to head over to the Mission. There are two options if comming from the San Diego area. You can meet the Predator Crew at our shop and leave in our convoy at 6:30am SHARP or meet us up at Tustin and leave Tustin at 9am for the mission. In the event you would like to donate and cant make it, you are welcome to drop off items with us Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and we will donate on your behalf.

See below for all the details from Mike at Tustin Hummer.

Every year we’ve had the HUMMER brand, we have held a to drive due to the overwhelming generosity of HUMMER owners. This year after GM giving up the Hummer line not we decided not to hold a toy drive. A local mission that we had helped out last year has approached us and they really need our help. No one ever said there is a time limit for giving. This mission is not a soup kitchen type, it is mission that takes families in and helps them get back on their feet. It has 5 facilities, is a privately funded non-profit where only 8 cents on every dollar goes to administration. The rest of the funds go into helping the homeless. The OC Rescue Mission is blessed with volunteers who do much of the work that enables them to keep costs down while helping people. Their success rate is over 85%. The Orange County Rescue Mission remains one of the largest privately funded human service agencies for the poor and homeless. And, this was achieved without one penny of the taxpayers’ money. We’ve also adopted a family and I’m sure there are plenty more. We found a family through the mission that just had a baby and the father found out that he has inoperable brain cancer. It is a sad story but we at Tustin Hummer, the H1 Psycho Squad, Tustin Buick GMC and Tustin Nissan want to throw a last minute Christmas party for the families at the mission.

On December 18th, we will be meeting at Tustin HUMMER in the morning and caravanning to the mission. We need donations and toys to help to pull this off. We met some of the kids that live there and it broke our hearts knowing that they have nothing. We asked a child what he wanted for Christmas and all he wanted was for his mom to be happy. And, he would love to be able to give her a Christmas present.

We are currently working with the press on this with local news and newspaper and hope to have a police escort to the mission. How: Ways you can help: 1)  Donate toys for the children 2)  Donate gifts that the children can give their parents (this is often overlooked) 3)  Donate items on the urgent needs list 4)  Donate clothes, shoes, jackets 5)  Donate money online (note: in the “in memory of” line put Tustin HUMMER) https://www.rescuemission.org/MainTabs/WaysToGive/OnlineGiving.aspx 6)  Mail a donation – (make a note on your check “Tustin HUMMER Christmas 2010”) OCRM One Hope Drive Tustin CA 92782 We will have donation bins set up at our stores. Remember – every little bit helps. All donations must be received by Saturday morning at 8 a.m. December 18th.
